It’s not a good idea to have many different themes on one blog because you will end up losing a focused niche.

It’s advantageous when creating a theme for your blog that you consider the readers that will be specifically interested in your topic.  Having a focused theme also makes your blog more attractive to your target audience.  A specific theme will give you credibility and establish your reputation as and authority on a specific topic.

1. Write about something that interests you

This is a key to successful blogging.  Creating a theme for your blog assumes that you have much knowledge on the subject matter and anything you don’t know, you are prepared to research for.  Considerable knowledge means that you are able to come up with fresh content on an ongoing basis.

Make sure the theme is something that people want to read about, ensuring there will be a large market for your content, but not too large.  Better being a big fish in a small pond, rather than a small fish in a large pond.

Creating a theme for your blog must consider that the theme will be around for a long time.  You don’t want it to be a case of here today and gone tomorrow.  Also, having done your research, make sure you can cover things in a way that sets you apart from the crowd.
