The Parable Of The Golden Goose
In this day and age, we tend to be instant gratification seekers.
New people in all things are impatient. The time it takes to learn all things seem to be always too long. Let’s take a lesson from the parable of the Golden Goose.
A farmer discovered that one of his geese laid solid gold eggs. He was overjoyed and every day cashed in the golden egg. The problem was that the goose took a day to lay each egg. One each day and some days, it did not lay any.
Eventually his greed and impatience got the better of him and he killed the goose to get at the half created egg it was growing inside its body. Obviously, the goose never laid another golden egg.
Developing a network is like raising Golden Geese. You must be patient. Not only do they produce golden eggs yet some hatch into more Golden Egg laying Geese. It takes time for them to produce. They must learn skills, they must build confidence.
Try to short cut the process and you will kill the geese off. Develop it properly and you will have a growing flock and a growing hoard of golden eggs.

Hi John,
This is really an excellent example which makes it so much easier to understand why lead generation needs determination, being focused and mindset and most of all patience for it to work out for a long term result.
Thanks Elizabeth, glad you liked it
Fantastic way of putting it John and loved the story. It is so true what you are putting acrosss. Thanks for sharing
Funny story but true! society has lost the art of patience, a society that no longer worships GOD is on the slippy path to destruction.
